Client Eligibility and Student Acceptance Procedures For Scholl Community Impact Group
The goal of Scholl Community Impact Group is to provide safe and productive equine-assisted services for all participants and to "do no harm." Each participant should be assessed for physical and psychosocial concerns.
Client Eligibility weight limit- limits the rider to 200 pounds (including the weight of tack) for mounted activities. Unmounted activities can be implemented into a program with no weight limit.
Upon entering the program, the director or lead instructor will evaluate the participant taking into consideration the riders' past experience, the rider's height and weight, and the mobility of the rider to determine the best horse or equipment needed.
They will also determine the readiness to be able to ride or if unmounted activities such as grooming would be best for the riders to continue to work on initially. Rider must not present with any contraindications as described in the PATH Standards Manual. All rider precautions must be assessed. In accessing the participant, the director/lead instructor will gain an insight into which horse would best be appropriate for the rider due to height, gait, and mannerisms of each individual horse.
Prior to acceptance, all forms provided for student must be filled out completely and by appropriate person and returned to Scholl Community Impact Group via mail or email.
